Marvelous Entertainment‘s creative experiments with Nintendo platforms just keep on keepin’ on, with the release later this year of Sakura Note, an adventure game for the DS.
Not much is known about the game other than the fact it’s an adventure title and is set in a small town, where a young girl is being haunted by ghosts. But plenty is known about the game’s staff, which includes Akira Ueda (Contact), Nobuo Uematsu & Hideo Minaba (Final Fantasy), Kazushige Nojima (Kingdom Hearts) and Kenichiro Takagi (Half-Minute Hero).
Can’t wait to see more, especially if the Contact-esque art style in the image above (from the game’s teaser site) makes its way through to the rest of the game.
DS title The Four Warriors of Light: A Final Fantasy Anecdote is a traditional turn-based roleplaying game for the Nintendo DS that tells the story of a boy trying to save a princess. It’s coming out only in Japan for the moment.
The game is dated for October 29 and is priced for ¥5,980 (US$63). More detail on this game as it arises.Check out game play here.
Bleach 4th Flame Bringer is the, you guessed it, 4th installment in the Bleach DS series. Normally when you think of a game series you generally think of games that have the same gameplay. Not with the Bleach series the last series Bleach 3 was a strategy game with fighting twist and now if is full platformer with some unique elements.
As usual the translation from strategy in Bleach 3 to platformer in Bleach 4 is as perfect and as well done as it is going to get. You have the entire normal feature such as story mode, Udahria shop and gallery in Bleach 4, but you also have new features that would be normal in a platformer such as mission mode.
I would say the best part is story mode. You start out in a classic 1-1 and work your way through the platform levels, then save the day. This game is tons of fun with unlocking different characters and items. The graphic of the different character are certainly well done and should be tons of fun for any bleach or plain anime fan. I’d recommend you try even if you weren’t an anime fan.
All and all, Bleach 4 is another great game from SEGA.
Pros: Great Graphic
Good quality Gameplay
Con: Could be more characters
Nothing else and just come to except change
Square Enix’s upcoming Kingdom Hearts game for the Nintendo DS handheld has finally been given a launch date in Europe and other PAL territories. Gamers there will be able to grab a copy of the game come October 9.
Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days tells the story of Roxas, the “other” hero from Kingdom Hearts II. It tells of his days as a member of Organization XIII, his relationship with Sora, and the reason for his departure from the organization.
Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days also holds the distinction of being the first game in the series to feature a multiplayer mode.
New Facebook application in the Nintendo Dsi allows you to take pictures with the camera and post them to Facebook, a social networking site. Sounds pretty cool but it require you to update because its more of a function in than a application and for those not using a flashcart it is no real problem. For those who are well you might want to hold off on it beacause it blocks all known flashcarts.
“Facebook is immensely popular (hell, both my parents are on it) and it’s a simple way of getting your photos from DSi to the world wide web. Overall, this is a simple update but at the very least it adds a welcome functionality to the Nintendo DSi’s camera capabilities. I’d love a bit of further enhancements, like the ability to add notes to the photo on the Nintendo DSi itself using the virtual keyboard, and having those comments be transferred to Facebook as well.” says chis harris from ign.com
Perhaps the Facebook/DSi pairing could advance further with a full-on Facebook application.
Ichigo Kurosaki and the others come clashing zanpakutō (斬魄刀?, literally “soul-cutting sword”) once more in the third game of the Bleach series. Already released in Japan is doing well and is now coming to America. The game is titled Bleach: The third Phantom but it will not just be like the past two other game this game adds a strategic element to the game.
It employs a traditional Strategy RPG gameplay format with an added bonus of anime styled combat during in-game battles. If you are a Bleach or just plain anime fan I recommend you this game. The graphics are great as well as the game-play. The game includes Story and a few extra features. The Once gamers complete the story mode, a bounty of unlockable content awaits them. Multiplayer is also featured which allows up to two players to battle head-to-head via Wireless Mode.
Bleach: The 3rd Phantom on Nintendo DS is quoted to release in North America Fall of 2009.
I’m not sure what to make of this but recently game companies like Square-enix, Capcom, and now even Sega are making teaser countdown sites for game premire releases for Nintendo DS. The Sega team seems to be taking note and created there own countdown site. Looks as if it is a new RPG is in the making. The quoted release is August 20,2009. Click Below to see the site.
The question most people aren’t answering is just how much DSiWare can you put on the Nintendo DSi.
Nintendo has an early list of DSiWare file sizes.
The sizes are measured in Blocks. Now the Nintendo DSi has a internal memory of 256 MB which is 1024 blocks. No this does not mean you get 1024 DSiWare.
Opera browser one of the larger DSiWare is 96 blocks which means that the internal memory can hold around 10.5 Opera browser. The file size will vary so there will not be a definate file as far as I can see. The Price range on launch will be 200 -800 but the like the opera brower it can be free and some will go higher the 800.
Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto series is a open world “sandbox” game where pretty much anything goes. Other developers have tried to create that same idea in their own titles, but none have been able to top GTA as the game that’s synonymous with the open world genre. So when Rockstar branches out its series in new directions, you take notice: Grandtheft auto: China town wars is a GTA game specifically tailored for the Nintendo DS platform, and while the Nintendo DS may be the weakest current generation system in terms of hardware power, Rockstar doesn’t let that get in the way of producing one of the deepest and extremely fulfilling chapters in the Grand Theft Auto saga.
We’ve already seen handheld renditions of the Grand Theft Auto open-world design: the PlayStation Portable has supported two games in the series that came extremely close to the quality of the PlayStation 2 renditions. The same team responsible for the PSP versions hunkered down to build a unique GTA experience for the Nintendo DS platform and succeeds admirably. GTA: Chinatown Wars might shift some things around and pair the big picture down, but the scope remains the same: it’s a tremendous game, both in scale and in fun. Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto series is easily the epitome of the open world “sandbox” game design. Other studios have tried to capture that same vibe in their own titles with various levels of success, but for better or worse none have been able to dethrone GTA as the game that’s synonymous with the open world genre. My comments: I have been playing the game for sometime and it never gets dull. i can honestly say they have transported all the GTA feel to Ds and in some cases made it better. There alot more to game I suggest you pick-up a copy for yourself
